LG Electronics was formed in 1995 from these two Korean groups named Goldstar, which was called Geum-sung in Korea, and Lak-Hui, which was pronounced as lucky. Koo In-Hwoi, the cofounder of Lak-Hui Chemical Industrial Corporation, Goldstar Electronics in 1958 and Goldstar changed its name to LG Electronics by coperating with Lak-Hui. The abbreviation LG comes from the first letters of Lak-Hui and Goldstar, which is now referred to as Life's Good. LG electronics produced Korea's first radios, air conditioners, and other modern innovations.
